Ella of the St. John Sun Times magazine asked us to attend the island “Prom” held at Mongoose Junction and take photos.  We were already planning on attending, so we were more than happy to oblige.  Deciding it was high time we broke out our “patented” photo booth, Emily pushed me to bring the lights.  It didn’t take much convincing.  We arrived at Mongoose about an hour early and scouted the shopping center for a good location to set up shop.  After a few misses we found the perfect location.  What you’ll find below are a number of the portraits we were fortunate enough to capture. We hope you enjoy them!

Pool shark, jazz musician, composer, diplomat, philosopher…allow us to introduce Doctor Wu.  Doctor Wu has an idea that he would like to share with us all.  He allowed us to photograph the letter, so that we could share it with the world.

we had a miserable experience with usair. i really don’t feel like recounting everything that occurred. the in flight movie was fantastic though!

oh wait…, there was no in flight movie…

but that’s okay! emily and i had a fantastic time using the entire plane as a prop for a fun photoshoot in the sky!

that said… on with the show!

SO. em and i spent the entire night packing for our 530am flight.  we decided to spend time picking out costumes that were unfamiliar to us to wear while we were up there.  the trip signifies the beginning of a new start for both of us, so trying out new skins is a definite must. this series documents the first leg of our trip: em’s journey through her closet (aka silly fashion shoot part two).

this is how we spent our saturday. dreaming up absolutely ridiculous things to photograph ourselves doing.

obin olson, of DV3 Productions, was gracious enough to allow em and I to come and steal some behind the scenes footage of his next Mobijokes installment. Here are some of the frames we picked up (still waiting on em to upload hers).

what began as an exploration in lighting techniques (a catch light study) turned into a a really fun (weird) portrait series… using saran wrap stretched across our faces.  kudos to laura johnston for inspiring our play this evening.
